it was only a matter of time

Well, I knew it would happen. I tried my best to resist the urge, but I just couldn't hold out any longer. I've been cleaning my kitchen for the past 2 hours!

After visiting with SM in her and MC's house (spotless house! with 2 cats, no less) I felt like the biggest slob! Seriously, I don't care if there's a pile of dishes in the sink, on the counter, stuck to the ceiling...whatever! But...when I go to a friend's house and see how clean and nice and sparkely it is, it makes me want to go home and dump all the little knicky-knacky things in a box and drive them to the dump. Of course, when I start trying to go through them, I remember all the little memories that accompany them and I just can't bring myself to get rid of any of them! I'm waaaaay too sentamental about things like that.

Back to the kitchen...it all started while I was making dinner. All that coffee I drank earlier made it impossible for me to sit still, so I got out my ever-trusty swiffer and did a round of the kitchen and area between the kitchen and den. Then, I still couldn't sit still, so I got out my even trustier carpet flick and "flicked" the dining room rug and living room rug, then the smaller rug in front of the back door and throw rug in the kitchen.

By this time, I had successfully burnt dinner (yippie for me). So, after choking down half my dinner and watching "King of the Hill" (oh yeah) I went back into the kitchen with the dirty dishes....yes, we eat in front of the TV. It's huge. We're stuck in it's gravitational pull.

My wittle 110 lb puppy dog wanted a piece of bacon, and of course, he normally gets what he wants. So that got me cleaning dishes. And more dishes. And bowls. And pans. All the stuff that I couldn't jam into the dishwasher. Then I got to thinking about how clean SM & MC's house was again, decided that a little "deep cleaning" in the kitchen wouldn't be such a bad thing. Consider it belated "Spring Cleaning". I even learned a little something. Did you know that the little grate thing in the bottom of an espresso machine comes out so you can clean it out better? Who knew?! I guess you've got to learn something new every day.

I'm considering of taking the cleaning act into the living room next...

More hang time with SM would be a GOOD thing! :)

Oh you've got to be kidding me! I'm still obsessed with cleaning! It hasn't worn off yet! I had to make an extra trip to the grocery store for swiffer cloths. I...can't...stop...
